Directed by Eliza Poehlman, the contemporary choir at St. Joseph's provides the liturgical music for the 6 p.m. Mass every Sunday evening. Composed of professional and amateur and professional singers and musicians including NYU students and graduates, they perform a large catalog of songs including Catholic favorites, contemporary pop, gospel, rock, and folk tunes as well as original compositions.
The choir and band welcome all parishioners high school age or older to join, no audition required; rehearsals are held Sunday evenings at 5 p.m. Email info@gsusband.com if you would like more information.

The Choir of St. Joseph is a music ministry dedicated to the mission of encouraging active participation in the liturgy. Directed by Jin Krista Kang, the choir performs weekly at the Sunday 11:30 a.m. Mass, as well as during Holy Week, Easter, and Christmas services. Composed of talented and dedicated members, the choir is a mixture of volunteer parishioners and professional musicians. The choir’s repertoire ranges from traditional Latin chant and Renaissance polyphony to twentieth century masterpieces.
